Panoramic View of Asia from Okinawa
Pan Okinawa is an art center focused on exhibiting contemporary art mainly from the Asian region, in Bise, facing the East China Sea, of Motobu-cho, Okinawa, Japan. PAN is a platform that explores uncharted contexts in Asia through exhibitions and cultural practices, fostering novel connections between thought and sensibility.
PAN is a symbolic name with multiple interpretations: (1) a sound that signifies something bursting with excitement, like the beginning of something new, (2) the prefix of “panorama,” meaning “a view of everything in sight,” and (3) the initials of “Pan-Asian Network,” which represents a new hub for generating diverse interpretations in the Asian region.
Through branding and design, Made in House has created an identity for PAN Okinawa that honors the indigenous culture of Okinawa while capturing a panoramic view of everything in sight. The logo is not only a visual mark but also a cultural symbol — one that reflects the island’s traditions, landscapes, and artistry, while embracing a forward-looking vision of hope, connection, and shared creativity.
